INTRODUCTION

I am an anthropologist interested in questions of displacement, development, and mobility in South Asia. Currently, I am working as a doctoral student of Ethnology and Anthropology in the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. My doctoral thesis explores relations between the state and resettled slum-dwellers in the context of large-scale urban development projects in Ahmedabad, India.

In 2015–2016, I was affiliated with CEPT University while conducting ethnographic fieldwork in a slum resettlement site in Ahmedabad.

In 2019, I will join the University of Helsinki as a postdoctoral researcher in the project Sustainable Livelihoods and Politics at the Margins: Environmental Displacement in South Asia funded by the Academy of Finland and led by Professor Sirpa Tenhunen.

Apart from my academic activities, I work as a freelance graphic designer and enjoy painting, studying languages, and practicing yoga.
